(Rockum)-Rockum - Mike we knew about your first live/album called (Rock n Roll Alive). Could you tell us more about it , cause we donıt have the luck to find it in SouthAmerica ?
MT: I am sorry that it's hard for rock fans to get my albums in South America. If anyone has any connections or suggestions to a label that would want to distribute my music there. Then please let me know @ trampfans@hotmail.com . I think it was time for me to do a live album,especially since neither White Lion nor Freak of nature had done one. It represents Mike Tramp very well.
Rockum - Is it an Album produced by yourself?
MT: Yes, but what is there to produce. The band played a kick ass set, we recorded it and then we mixed it.
Rockum - "More to Life than this" was mixed/ engineer by FLEMMING RASMUSSEN .How was it to work with the same producer/engineer who was behind the two more important Albums of Metallica like "Master Of Puppets " & " And Justice for all "?
MT: I have known Flemming, since way before he worked with Metallica. And all Flemming did on, "More to life" was record and mix it. He had no musical input or say, what so ever.
Rockum - Capricorn was your first solo/album in 1998 . According to the press this record showed us a different Tramp even more personal .What happened in your life to do that ?
MT: Capricorn was recorded in 96 and came out in 97. It's only different to my fans and other rock fans because they know me from White Lion and Freak of nature, and how that sounded. But to me I know how I sound when I am by myself and this is the way I have always sounded. Going solo gave me a much better canvas to write some very personal lyrics and that's what I have chosen to do. Most of my lyrics is and will be about my own life good or bad.
Rockum - Capricorn, Recovering the wasted years, More to Life than this , Do you considerer this three albums like a continuation , one behind the other,) or every Album has its own way ?
MT: Well it's not a trilogy, but they are three Mike Tramp albums, and I have definitely progressed from album to album. Still my trademark is there through out all albums. It's Mike Tramp on everyone, nothing else.
Rockum - Mike you are from Denmark , then you moved to ( NYC ) USA for a lot of years . Now we know that you live in Melbourne Australia . Which is the actually motivation to make your new home in that city ?
MT: It's a mixture between survival, boredom and being where my son is growing up and living.
Rockum - In Southamerica the most popular sport is Soccer ,we know that you are a big fan of Soccer , Do you think the World cup Fifa Germany 2006 , will stay in Southamerica ( BRAZIL) or will return to Europe ?
MT: NO I don't think so. There a few European countries that have to show some better football than they did in Euro 2004.
Rockum - We know that you are a really gunner of Arsenal soccer team. If you had your own soccer team , what name would you put to it , maybe The Trampers ?
MT: The Tramp name is for RockınıRoll, my team would be called The Northern Rebels
Rockum - Did you belong to other band before White lion or Freak of Nature )
MT: Yes I joined my first band in 76 in Denmark. But that story will be for another day.
Rockum - In LatinAmerica we have known you by the world success that you had with White Lion ( Pride , Big Game ( Atlantic Records ) , Mtv , great tours ( ACDC, Aerosmith , Ozzy Osbourne and a lot of the prizes you obtained in the whole world . How would you describe that experience in one single phrase?
MT: Lucky
Rockum - Which bands would be considered in the top ten throughout the years ?
MT: Any band that keeps producing great music.
Rockum - What bothers you in life?
MT: Too many things. But music has become business 100 percent, and nothing is real anymore.
Rockum - Would you like to make songs in Spanish for the Hispanic?
MT: Songs might be over doing it. But I would not be opposed to do one. Don't forget I lived in Madrid for 3 years.
Rockum - Which will be your advice for a young musician?
MT: MY advice will not be followed. But don't follow what Linkin Park, Sum 41 or Blink 182 is doing. Start with the birth of rockınıroll as your foundation.
Rockum - Do you know South America?
MT: What are you kidding. I have been to Brazil twice. But not to any other South American countries.
Rockum - Do you know anything about Peru?
MT: I couldn't list them. But I know many good things coming out of there. Also much of the traditional music is very pleasant to listen to.
Rockum - What would you say to your fans in Peru and South America that read this interview in Rockum?
MT: First of all I am happy that I have fans there. Second I want to thank them all for their support. Third I would like to tell everyone who reads this. That there is nothing I would wish more, than to come play a place like Peru. And at this stage it's not Mike Tramp that's saying no I don't want to come. But I have not been asked if I would want to play there, and that's where it has to start, a promoter has to offer me a show or a tour.
