ATTILA - ROLLING THUNDER

Attila is and was a three-piece American "Heavy Metal" band from New York going by the names of Vincent Paul [vocals], John Deleon [guitar], and A.T. Soldier on [drums] that formed in 1983, and unfortunately they released only one album which was "Rolling Thunder" in 1986.

At face value judging by the album cover, one could make that distinction that the theme to this album was about nuclear warfare and the atmosphere of the permanent fear in the times of the cold war by just looking at the album cover and the titles of the songs on the album, although it was allegedly put that there was this kind of mission statement that is printed on the back of the jacket that was written by the guitar player that is about four paragraphs long.

I quote (in part): "...through endless technological advances in the name of progress, man has created nuclear power beyond our control and has contaminated our world with carcinogenic chemical waste, leading to the social decay and toxic sewer in which we live".

The album "Rolling Thunder" has ten tracks that start off with "Turn up the Power," which is a speedy up-tempo song and a definite headbanger with four songs in between about nuclear warfare.

This album and band overall is truly underrated and should actually be looked on favorably for what they have done in the metal community, even if it is one album.

In conclusion, I would recommend this band/album to the old-school metalheads and those looking for real serious heavy metal or music acts, period.
