The Foreigner bassist acknowledges that while the original lineup's chemistry is intact, the chances of a final Dokken album remain slim due to conflicting schedules and different priorities.

(Rockum) - In a recent interview with The Logan Show, Jeff Pilson was asked again about the possibility of a reunion of Dokken’s classic lineup for a new album or even some live performances. The 66-year-old bassist, a member of Foreigner since 2004, shared his thoughts on the enduring hope for a final Dokken project featuring original members.

“There’s always pressure on us to reform, reunite, and make a record, and I would love to do it — a last Dokken album that’s really great,” Pilson said. Reflecting on the group’s chemistry during a brief reunion in 2016, he added, “Our chemistry is still intact, and I think if we made a record, it’d be fantastic. But honestly, I don’t expect it, partly due to my schedule and partly because I think Don [Dokken, lead vocalist] is content with his current lineup. I don’t believe he’s interested in revisiting a situation where other members are his equals. And I get it — it’s his band now, completely. If George [Lynch, former guitarist] and I got involved, that dynamic would change.”

Pilson acknowledged a lingering desire from both himself and George Lynch to produce one more Dokken album. “George and I talk about it all the time,” he noted. “He’s like, ‘Just one more album. If we could do one more together, it’d be special.’ But again, I wouldn’t hold your breath.”

In closing, Pilson added that recent comments made by Don Dokken indicate that a reunion may not be on the horizon. “Don has said some pretty harsh things about George and me in the press recently, which tells me he’s not really in the mood to reunite right now. He’s got his new Dokken album, Heaven Comes Down (2023), and seems satisfied with that.”

However, Pilson left the door open, emphasizing that he’s "never opposed" to the idea. "You can always call me, and I’ll listen,” he said, while cautioning that scheduling and enthusiasm would still be challenging factors.
